Battling performance ends in disappointment.

The game started at fast pace with Bridgwater immediately on the front foot pressurising the TCS back line and before long TCS were picking the ball out of the net at what felt like the beginning of a long afternoon. There were occasional breaks forward for TCS but the side were finding themselves camped in their own half and Bridgwater doubled their lead not long after the opener. Keeper Bob, was on fine form shutting out the Bridgwater attacking line numerous times as they continued to file forwards. TCS had the last say in the half as a break, spearheaded by Toby in his new role in the centre of midfield, who moved past 3 or 4 players to open space into the D with the ball falling to Lee Slade who fired the ball against the post … then off the back of the keepers foot … and into the goal - 2 - 1 at half time.

After some wise words from the occasionally Somerset based Curtis Bradley, and some encouragement from the skipper, TCS came out very much up for the second half.

Two quick goals from Mark Sawyer and Jason Harris gave TCS a well deserved, if slightly unexpected lead mid way through the second half. The back line of Carter, Smith, Brown and Carter were holding on well at the back reinforced by Bob who continued to have a great game. The gaps in the midfield from the first half appeared plugged as Toby, Jason, Dan, Ollie and Jack worked tirelessly to track, block and cut out opportunities and each created beautifully moving forward and there was excellent hold up and attacking play from Sawyer and Slade up front.

Unfortunately for the travelling side, this spurred Bridgwater on and they returned to a feeling of relentless attack, finding a goal from a short corner and a well struck solo effort sealed TCS fate. Overall this team should be proud of this performance as each player played above their level. Two games remain for TCS this season but a week off next week. Thank you guys and see you on the 26th when we play Bridgwater again at 11 o’clock.
