Men's 1st XI lose opening game

Taunton CS Men's 1st XI travelled to Midsomer Norton to meet Mendip in the opening game in Central 2. Under no illusion that this season would be tough following promotion last year the team did still not expect to find themselves two goals down within the first 10 minutes.

Having conceded two goals Taunton finally found some rhythm and started to create a number of chances while keeper Joe Heaynes kept the Mendip attack from extending their lead. Unfortunately Taunton were not able to capitalise on any of the chances they created nor take advantage of the of Mendips reduced numbers after the umpires issued a flurry of green cards. Taunton pressed the home side until the final whistle however their efforts were not enough however their were plenty of positives to take forward into what may prove to be a hard fought season.
