Yeovil 6 - 1 TCS A

Today saw a vast improvement on the performance against Minehead A two weeks ago. The passing was smooth and slick throughout the game and in all positions we looked assured including new goalkeeper Harry Stone. The first half was lively and saw early chances for both teams with Yeovil scoring and hitting the post. With civil down 1-0 at half time we were looking strong however defensive lapses early in the second half made the deficit 3-0 and we had a mountain to climb. Civil heads didn’t drop and the attacking spirit showed through spending long periods attacking in the opposition half however a move on the break led to a fourth for Yeovil. Back on the attack Civil looked threatening again and a move spearheaded by attackers C. Neal and Jon Dee gave Civil a penalty flick for a foot foul on the line stopping a clear goal for Dee. Captain Carter stood up to take the penalty then politely gifted it to 5 minute man Vince Kearney who (slapped) tucked the ball neatly between the keepers legs for 4-1. The Civil players battled on but unfortunately conceded two more late on finishing the game 6-1 down. All in all a very good game for all involved, well done gents.
