TCS A 1 - 10 Torbay B

The game started with Civil fielding 3 new young players and a team changed slightly from the good performances the previous week. Early on Civil conceded three sloppy goals and morale was low with the passing and control suffering greatly and the team becoming frustrated. A strong Torbay performance kept Civil pegged back in their own half and before half time two more goals had been neatly slotted passed keeper Dan Adams. Half time was a welcome break and Civil came out fighting in the second half. A sixth goal came as Torbay countered but civil rallied. A move started at the back by Steve Grenfell moved to new player Sam on the right and into Andy Carter in the centre followed by an excellently time through ball to C. Neal who struck a shot against the keeper; the ball rebounded into Finn Kearney who slid a shot into an empty goal. Four more Torbay goals followed as Civil tired but a much improved second half meant heads were up and the team were pleased to be heading into the slightly easier quarter of the season.
