Hoping to extend their unbeaten run to five weeks, Civil travelled to Dawlish. Lacking several regular players, including the captain, Taunton had only a bare eleven players.

Neither team was able to gain early dominance, with possession and chances evenly shared between the two clubs. The Civil Service defence was on good form, breaking up several Teign attacks before they got going.
However, players on both sides received warnings for inappropriate play. The home side was awarded a number of short corners, but was unable to convert any. Shortly before half-time Teign had a goal disallowed; when the whistle was blown, tensions were running high.

Taunton began the second half well, enjoying the better of the possession and play, forcing the home keeper had to make several important saves. However, the tone of the game began to take its toll. After Kurt had to be helped from the pitch to recover from a particularly hard impact, the Captains were instructed to take control of their teams.

Shortly after Kurt returned to the pitch, Connor Neal received a yellow card for a deliberate foot just outside the D. Civil responded strongly, defending well, even though a man down. Back up to eleven, Taunton gave away a free hit at the top of the D. Barely pausing for the whistle, a Teign forward took the ball past the defenders and put it squarely into the net.

Civil Service pushed for the equaliser, mounting some strong attacks and winning several short corners. However, with seven minutes to go, Dan Adams, having beaten three defenders, was laid out by the fourth; he used his shoulder to check the youngster. The umpire immediately flashed the yellow card, but decided to call the game early. Paramedics were called amid concerns about a neck injury; Dan was later discharged from hospital without serious injury.
