Due to a slight snafu with the match times, Civil managed to pull a reverse Vale; turning up an hour early for our game. The late start allowed for an especially thorough warm-up.
Looking to continue their recent good form, Taunton C.S. A ran the 4-4-2 formation that had served them so well against Vale and Okehampton. It seemed to work in Dorset too, as Civil took the lead through an early Mark Sawyer goal. The away side had the better of the attacking play for most of the first half; the West Dorset keeper was forced to make several diving saves. Although Simon Jones scored Taunton's second, Civil were unable to capitalise on their chances.
However, the home side mounted a strong counter-attack in the second half and strung together six consecutive short corners. Taunton defended consistently and responded with a score of their own, coming from a break from the sixth.
Although man of the match Dan Adams was given a yellow card in the closing minutes of the game, Taunton C.S. can be happy with good win that gives them 10 points from the last 4 games.
