Bridgwater B vs Taunton C.S. A

In their second game of the weekend, Civil Service named a young side to take the field in Bridgwater; four players were under the age of 16. After a 5-3 loss earlier in the season, Taunton were looking forward to a difficult game in the rain.

The home side started well, pushing an attack that netted them an early lead. Civil's defence was probed repeatedly during the half, and Mike Whitman was tested repeatedly in goal. However, the defence held to deny any further goals.

Although several chances were missed by Taunton's forwards, the away team felt upbeat at half time. With only one goal in it, they prepared to fight back.

Unfortunately, the second half granted two more goals to Bridgwater. James Coles clawed one back, but Civil were unable to recover. The match ended 3-1.

Jason Harris was awarded man of the match for a strong presence in defence; his first for the club.

Despite the defeat, Civil can be pleased with a good performance. They moved the ball well and created several chances. The performance was not without flaws, but was, in many ways, better that that against Hornets the previous day.
