A top of the table clash saw East Devon playing host to high riding Taunton CS. The first half was all but scoreless, despite the best efforts of both teams. Both ends saw sustained pressure at various times, with both goalies making several good saves. Despite star striker Mark Sawyer missing an open goal, the deadlock was broken by Taunton with only 2 minutes to go before the half time whistle.
The goals kept coming quickly in the second half. Although East Devon put up a good fight, luck was not on their side as a goal line scrum saw an own goal scored. The visitors maintained the pressure and the final score ended 5 nil to Taunton. This is their third shutout of the season and secures their position at the top of the league against a close rival.
